"Everyday, you communicate with friends, coworkers, family members, and romantic partners. You communicate through e-mail, text messages, phone calls, and face-to-face exchanges. But these aren't the only communication phenomena you experience. You also watch television shows and Webcasts, taking in information and viewing advertisements. You attend public speeches, participate in group projects, go on job interviews, and consume magazine articles, movies, and music" (McCornack, 2007, p. 6). Communication is all around us. It impacts most all facets of our lives and it helps us achieve our goals. In essence, communication is life.
This blog is written by undergraduate students at James Madison University who are enrolled in one of Dr. Jennie Gill Rosier's courses in the School of Communication Studies. Contributing to this blog is part of a semester-long class project that enables students to express themselves and talk about their own life perspective while learning about communication concepts and theories. We hope that you enjoy reading this blog as much as we all love writing it.
